Wednesday Treasures with Lily Grace

Good Morning Everybody!! I just woke up and Mommie said because it was so cold here today (36 right now), I could put my clothes on over my jammies to help keep me extra cozy and warm! Have you ever done that before? Mommie said when she was a little girl they always had to wear dresses to school, even when it was really cold.  But they allowed the girls to wear pants under their dresses to keep warm.  And so that is what I am going to do this morning! I have my pretty little purple dress on over my jeans and over my jammies!  And I feel all toasty and warm!

Mommie said that today is Wednesday, and that normally on Wednesdays she likes to write about some special "treasure".  She said that since I came along, her writing schedule has changed all over the place and she is doing things a little differently than before, but that we can still do something about a treasure today too. She said that I am a special treasure! That made me really happy in my heart!

Also, remember yesterday we decided to do the "Joy-Dare" challenge to count and write down three special gifts each day?  Well, today we are supposed to look for "three gifts found in writing".  Mommie said there are so many it is hard to choose just three, but we decided to look in that special book that is sitting on the little tea table above and find some "treasures", and here's what we found:

(from the book, A Cup of Hope, by Emilie Barnes)

Mommie thought that was so nice, and that it was a kind of "treasure", to know that right now there is "somebody" who loves you.  She said, of course, Jesus loves you all the time too, and that we should never forget that!

And then Mommie found this card inside the book. Apparently Mommie's sister gave this book to her for Christmas and this was a Christmas card from her to Mommie. Mommie said this was a "gift" and a "treasure", and it really meant a lot to her, so that is why she kept it.  I haven't met Mommie's sister, "Aunt Doris" yet, but I hope to very soon. I hope that she will love me too! Mommie said that once she sees me she will wish she could take me home with her too!

Here is what is written on the back of that special book "A Cup of Hope", by Emilie Barnes:

Mommie said that Bible verse above is also a gift, written to us in God's Word to encourage us and give us hope and joy.

Mommie said it was okay if we had more than three things written to share today, because three is just a suggestion, not a "rule". We can write as many as we want!

This special little sign was a gift to Mommie from her new friend, my new "Auntie Pamela".
She made it especially for Mommie because she said that they are like "two peas in a pod"! Two Pamela's, both have reddish hair, and both love little dollies like me!  Auntie Pamela has a special little Barbie doll that she like to make clothes for too! And she made that darling hoodie for me yesterday, plus other nice things.  So Mommie said that they are like "two peas in a pod".  I think I understand what that means...do you? Isn't this cute?
We sure do have a lot of fun here, don't we?

Well, here's some more fun for the day.  Mommie has introduced me to the little family in Pamela's Victorian Cottage. I hope to get to know them better as the days go by. This morning they came outside to find that some mysterious visitor had decorated their house with Valentine's hearts and lights!  Mama was quite perplexed as to who could have done such a thing, but the children love it and want to find this mysterious guest...

I couldn't wait too long to pop up and tell them, "It was me!!"  They were so surprised and happy and I hope that they will all be my special friends!

Mommie reminded me that "With God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26)

Well, we hope you have enjoyed this happy Wednesday Treasures day!  I don't know yet what the rest of the day will be like...but stay tuned for more adventures!

Love,

Lily Grace

    1. Thank you so much Miss Martha Jane! I am having lots of fun discovering new and special things every day. Mommie seems to be having fun too! She said she loves having a little girl like me around to brighten up her day! Isn't God so good?

  2. Good morning, Lily Grace! Yes, I remember when we girls could only wear dresses to school. The only exceptions were those 'snow days', but we had to remove our slacks once we arrived and put them in our lockers. How times have changed!
What hasn't changed, is Jesus' love. His example. I'm so happy to see you embracing that ... and passing it on to those of us who might need a pick-me-up every now and then!

    1. Oh, thank you, Miss Myra! You must have been a school girl the same time as my Mommie! I wonder if you remember some of the same stuff as Mommie? Did you ever have a hula hoop? Mommie said she did when she was a very young girl. I wonder if we could find one for me somewhere! I would like to try that! And yes, Jesus loves you and me and every body!! He makes us happy because we KNOW He loves us!! Thank you for visiting! Bye Bye for now!

    2. Yes, Lily Grace, your mommie and I are the same age. :) I remember hula hoops but wasn't much good keeping them aloft. I wouldn't mind trying it again!

  3. Things sure have changed since we grew up. I try to teach my kids the good things too. Who knows, maybe our world is about to change for the better. Still, there are times I'd like to crawl into a dollhouse like that and stay there! 😊

    1. Oh, Miss Sandi! Wouldn't that be fun to do? To crawl in the dollhouse and play with those sweet little dolls? Even I would love to do that, but Mommie says I'm a little bit too big for the dollhouse, but we can still play with it and use our imaginations. I like that idea! It's fun to pretend happy things. And maybe some of our happy dreams WILL come true and the world will get better! Mommie said that Jesus can change the world if we all just believe in Him! I believe...do YOU believe? Have a wonderful day, and come back soon!

    1. Oh Miss Terri! Did you go to a farm today? Oh I can't wait to see your pictures! Did you see cows and horses and goats and chickens? Mommie said you like to feed them all carrots. I wish I could go with you and feed the animals some carrots. Maybe someday Mommie and Daddy will take me to a farm too. Mommie said she hasn't learned out to Zoom yet. She said she is still behind the times! We are having fun though! Bye Bye for now!!

    1. Mommie said to tell you that she had to put comment moderation on because of spammers, but she tries to open them and post them as soon as she can. We go to bed early so we don't see ones that are put on here late in the evening until morning. But we sure do thank you for visiting and I am so happy you saw my purple dress! And I can't wait to meet your dollies!!

  8. Lily, I love your purple dress too. I enjoyed that heart shaped card. You and Mommie have a wonderful day in this cool Florida weather.

  9. Lily Grace, it was the same when I was in school. Girls had to wear skirts or dresses to school but could wear pants underneath until we got to school. When we were older (teenagers) we didn't do that! It wasn't considered "cool" and we just stood outside in the cold with bare legs waiting for the school bus. I love the pretty Victorian cottage!

  10. I'm sorry I'm so late getting by to visit, Lily Grace. I've been terribly busy taking care of my own little treasures, my grandchildren, this week and haven't had much time for visiting friends. I do like those treasures from your mommy's little book and how cute the cottage looks with the Valentine's lights! Thank you for sharing all your treasures with us!

  11. Lilly Grace: I get here when I can. It's two days after you shared this post. Because of you and your mommie, I got out a little tea pot and had a 'spot of tea' before I went to bed. I drink herb tea or decaffeinated. My dad and I used to have tea parties when he came home from his nightshift job on Friday nights,. (I was six years old.)

My other favorite hot beverage is hot chocolate. We like it with whipped cream on top. It makes me feel special.
