Hello to all my special friends! I hope you are having a happy Saturday! I love Saturdays. It's kind of a "free day", when many big people don't usually have to go to work, unless they have a special job that needs them to work on Saturday, and kids don't have to go to school, and it's a day when sometimes families get together to have parties or just play together. Mommie says it's a day to catch up on working in the yard or cleaning the house or just doing something you like to do for fun.
Mommie said we should always be thankful for the "small blessings" that come into our lives, as well as the BIG blessings. She said sometimes the best things come in small packages and that we should never overlook the little ways that God chooses to bring a blessing into our lives.
Mommie says that something (or someone), no matter how big or small, if it makes you smile and brings joy to your heart, it is a blessing and we should thank the Lord for it.
She said that's how she feels about ME!
Mommie says that I am one of those "small blessings" that came into her life unexpectedly, and that God used Aunt Debbi and my identical cousin Tracie to send her some special love in a package that was meant to be shared with everyone!
Wow! That's pretty wonderful!
So yesterday afternoon Mommie said that Daddy needed some more cookies! And she said that every little girl needs to learn how to bake cookies for her family. (Actually she said little boys can learn to do this too, because she taught my big brother Scott how to bake cookies when he was little and he still likes to do it today to make people happy!)
Mommie also said it was okay for me to lick the beater a little bit. She said every child she ever knew has licked a beater and grew up healthy and happy to tell about it. Not sure why she said that, but she mumbled something about big people out there saying it was bad to lick the beaters, but they probably just never had the opportunity to do so and so they didn't want anyone else to do it either...
We had so much fun baking these cookies together. Mommie said I could have this little tiny mixer for my very own. (She said to tell you, No, she didn't go out and buy this mixer to spoil me...it was a gift to her a long time ago and it was just sitting in her cupboard...waiting for me to come along I guess!)
After we finished baking our cookies Mommie said we should have a little tea party to celebrate and sample our cookies! After a very cold morning, the sun came out and warmed it up enough for us to go out on the porch for our tea party:
We are using a cute little teapot and teacups that a special friend gave Mommie for her birthday! The tea cups are small enough for me to use. Mommie said again that special blessings come in small packages!
Mommie says that is kind of like what God did for all of us when He sent His Son Jesus to us in a tiny package...a little baby born in a manger, and that He was sent to the world as a very special gift to bless the whole world with His love and salvation. But she said Jesus didn't stay as a little baby in the manger. No, He grew up to be a man who never did anything wrong, and He taught us all about how to live and love one another, and then people turned against Him and they crucified Him on a cross. But those people were wrong. They didn't understand who He was...the Son of God. And they missed the wonderful gift that could have blessed them and given them eternal life if they had only believed.
Mommie says that we need to always remember that, and never forget that sometimes God wants to get our attention through "small blessings.
Thank you again for being one of my special friends and visiting me here. I do hope you will come back again. Mommie says that we may have another special adventure to share later, so be sure to stay tuned.
Oh, and also be sure to look for those "small blessings" that God may be sending to you every day! Sometimes they come in unexpected packages that you don't recognize at first...but when you ask God to show you, He opens your eyes to see the treasure that is right there before your eyes!
Jeremiah 33:3
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
Well, thank you Lily Grace, so nice to meet you. smiles
ReplyDeleteHello Miss Linda! I am SO happy you came to visit me! Mommie says you have been working a lot at that BIG store and that you have a different schedule all the time, so it is hard for you to get around and visit us. And also she said you have LOTS of snow at your house! I've never seen snow yet, but maybe someday I will. I bet it would be so much fun to play it and make snow-angels and a snowman! I hope you will come back and visit again soon! Bye Bye for now!
DeleteOne of my favorite verses at the end. I wish I could join you on the porch for those cookies. Have a blessed day. Cool and crisp here as well.
ReplyDeleteHello Miss Sandy! Oh, I am so happy you know the Bible verse we shared. Mommie said the Bible has so many special verses to encourage us that we should find something new to share every day. Oh, I wish you could bring your little grandson Tucker to visit and we could have cookies on the porch together! I bet he would love that. Yes, it was a cool morning, but the sun is shining and it is much warmer this afternoon. It's a good day to be outside as much as possible. Mommie says we are blessed to live in "the Sunshine State!" Have a happy day.
DeleteYou sure do have lots of adventures! I love that you have your own adorable little mixer! You and your Mommie sure are having lots of fun :)
ReplyDeleteHello Miss Martha! Thank you for coming back to visit with us. Yes, we are having so much fun together! Mommie said that people need a "di-ver-sion", whatever that means. Something about making us laugh and smile and be happy again because so many have been cooped up too long this past year. And so she said that we will keep having adventures as long as we can because it makes people smile and it makes us happy too! God bless you, Miss Martha. Please come back again!
DeleteThe biggest gifts are often the smallest of blessings, Lily, to thanks for reminding us of that today. Looks like you had so much fun helping Mommie with those cookies. Virginia used to help me bake cookies whenever she would visit. How I miss doing that with her! I know your Mommie is truly enjoying all her special times with you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Oh Miss Martha Jane, I do hope you can bake cookies with your sweet Virginia and her little sisters again soon. I know they must miss you as much as you miss them. Maybe Virginia can come spend some time with you again when school is out. Or maybe you can go see them at their new house. I hope so. We will pray for that. Thank you for visiting us. We enjoy your visits so much. Bye bye for now!
DeleteGood morning, pretty girl! Thank you for reminding me how fun it feels to lick the beater! I'm going to have to write that down in my 'Things I Love' list.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure enjoying your adventures; especially the Gospel According to Mommie. What wonderful lessons she's imparting, not just to you but all your friends! Not sure how I missed commenting on the videos -- but I smiled real big watching your geese. To borrow a phrase, "It's a great day in the neighborhood!"
Oh hello Miss Myra! I am SO happy you came over to visit us again! And YES, licking the beater is so much fun. Mommie said she did it when she was little, and her little boys did too, and she thinks everybody needs to lick the batter off the beater sometime and they will be so much happier! And thank you for enjoying our little special "lessons". Mommie is teaching me things because I'm just a little girl and I have so much to learn. And she said maybe others will enjoy learning along with me. Mommie said she is learning stuff too. Oh, I am glad you enjoyed watching the geese. They are our morning visitors and they always make us smile! Hey, you must know Mr. Rogers! "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood..." "won't you be, please won't you be my neighbor!" Bye Bye for now!!!
DeleteOh Lily Grace! Your cookies look so good! Have fun with Mommie! Have a nice weekend.

Thank you, Miss Lori. The cookies were 'specially good, because I got to help make them! And Mommie said we made Daddy and big brother Scott happy too, because they love cookies! We hope you have a nice weekend too!!!
DeleteGood morning, Lily Grace! Thank you for sharing your mommy's wisdom about blessings with us. You are one lucky little girl to have such a wonderful mommy. Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteHello Miss Stacy! Thank you for your kind words. Mommie says to say thank you, too. Mommie says that there is one thing we can do to help others find joy, and that is to share Jesus with them. So that is what we are going to do as often as we can, because Mommie says JOY means Jesus Others You... put Jesus first, Others second, and You (ME) third, and then we will be joyful. Thank you for visiting us. Hope you are having a blessed day too!

You must have known that this would be a good home for me...and it IS! I love my new Mommie and Daddy so much. Oh, yes, Aunt Debbi, you MUST teach Tracie how to bake some cookies! But if you can't, then maybe when she comes here to visit we can bake some together, and then we can have a tea party and you and Mommie can too! We didn't hear the owl this morning, but the geese were out there, and Mommie saw some ducks way across the pond with her special zoom lens. She said maybe we will share some pictures of them later.
