Wow! What a SPECIAL day we had yesterday!!!
Remember I told you that Mommie and I were going to a little Valentine's party?
Well, we sure did! And it was SO much fun!
After we drove around winding country roads for a few minutes, we finally found Auntie Pamela's house. I thought we'd never get there, but when we did, Auntie Pamela had such a nice party planned!
I finally got to meet her special friend "Sunshine Joy", who is a much more sophisticated young lady than I am, but she was just as excited as I was to finally get to meet and have this special tea party!
Auntie Pamela had baked some special Valentine cookies and we had some really tasty Turmeric Ginger Cinnamon spice tea with sliced lemon...It was very tasty!
That's my Auntie Pamela above, and my Mommie Pamela below!
They both enjoyed the tea party as much as Sunshine Joy and I did. They chatted and chatted like two school girls and had so much fun, they said they want to do this more often! Auntie Pamela says they are like "two peas in a pod!"
OH! And Auntie Pamela made me this new t-shirt to wear with my big brothers...It say's "I'm Mom's Favorite". She was worried that the letters didn't all show very well, but I said I love it and I can't wait to wear it and show my big brothers who's really the favorite here now! Ha Ha Ha!!
Auntie Pamela has two nice doggies too. They wanted to meet me and have their pictures taken with me too.
The pretty black doggie's name is Raven:
And the sweet blonde doggie's name is....uh, I forget. Mommie said she will have to ask Auntie Pamela again because for some reason she forgot too! But she sure loved me and gave me lots of sniffs and licks that tickled and I giggled and giggled. *UPDATE: The Blonde Doggie's name is "Shammy", but it is spelled "Chamois", because she is the same color as a leather chamois cloth! I hope I can remember that now!!
Both doggies were so sweet and happy to meet me.
Soon the party was over and we had to go home and meet Daddy for lunch.
And then guess what happened next? I was SO surprised!
A big package came in the mail and it was addressed to ME!!! I asked Mommie who could be sending ME a big package in the mail? We looked at the return address and it said S. Carolina, and I knew it was from my sweet Auntie Debbi and my identical cousin Tracie!! And LOOKY at ALL the fun stuff they sent me for Valentine's Day!!! There were hair barrettes, and little dollhouse furniture,
and even a sweet dollie with big eyes and red curly hair, just for me!!
Auntie Debbi sent me this pretty hair scrunchie scarf with a beautiful pearl hanging down from the back. It is like what my cousin Tracie has, and now I can think of her every time I wear it in my hair!
And best of all these really nice books about how "God Made Friends" and "A Sister's Connection", which is really about the way my identical cousin Tracie and I feel about each other.
I 'specially like these pages from that book:
(from the book "A Sister's Connection", published by Bendon Publishing Co.)
This was so sweet and it almost made me cry, but even though I miss my wonderful Auntie Debbi and Identical Cousin Tracie, I am so happy they sent me here to live with my new family. And Tracie and I will always stay connected in our hearts!
So all in all I had a pretty wonderful day yesterday! I made new friends with Sunshine Joy and Auntie Pamela's pups Raven and ?? blonde doggie, and then I got this wonderful package from Auntie Debbi and Tracie...and I feel pretty special! God has certainly blessed me with some wonderful friends.
The other little book above that Auntie Debbi sent says "God made friends", and I believe it!! I know He made these special friends I've told you about, and guess what? He made YOU to be my special friends too! Mommie said we don't have to have tea parties and get gifts to be good friends. We can be special friends right here because we care about each other and we pray for one another and we share good thoughts and ideas with each other. Good friends look forward to hearing from each other and celebrate when one has a happy day, and we weep when one has a sad day. We can love one another right here through this computer, because God gave us hearts that help us to care and love whether we are near or far.
So, since Valentine's Day is all about love, Mommie said we are to "love one another".
The Bible tells us so in a lot of places, but here is a good place:
I John 4:7-11
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God;
and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
He who does not love does not know God,
for God is love.
In this the love of God was manifested toward us,
that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
In this is love, not that we loved God,
but that He loved us and sent His son
to be the propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us,
we also ought to love one another."
What a wonderful party you and mommie enjoyed! Then, to come home and discover that box of surprises? Wheeeeee! That's too funny about your new t-shirt; I can't wait to see the expression on your brothers' faces. And now, you have your own baby sister to keep you company when mommie and daddy have to leave. What are you going to call her?
ReplyDeleteThank you, and mommie too, for sharing this timely verse. What the world needs now, is Love, sweet love.
Oh, Thank you, Miss Myra! I'm so happy you stopped by to visit us. Yes, I want to show my big brothers my new t-shirt soon. I know they will laugh and laugh. Mommie says we are ALL her favorites!! Funny you should ask about my new baby dollie! Mommie and I were just talking about that and we even asked Daddy what he thought we should name her, since he helped name me. I think I will wait until my next adventure to tell you what we've decided! So now you have to come back again to find out!! Mommie said that's a good way to write a story with a mystery at the end so people will come back to find out what happens next!! And yes, we agree that this world needs LOTS of love, sweet love. Thank you for being a dear friend to us. Love, Lily Grace xoxo
