Good Morning Everyone! Happy Friday! When I woke up this morning Mommie brought me and my sweet sister Baby Elva out into the living room, and guess what we saw?! There's a big tree in our living room, and it has lights all over it, and now Mommie is adding all kinds of pretty things to the tree to make it so beautiful! She said to tell you it's still a work in progress, but hopefully sometime today it will be done!
But to Baby Elva and me it is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!!!
We just want to sit here all day and look at it, and watch the lights sparkle!
Oh! Lookie! If you can see it, up there in right top corner of this picture (below), there is the word
"Believe"! Mommie said that was her "One Word" for this year, and it means we need to believe that "With God nothing will be impossible!" (but she said we will talk about that more later)
And guess what? Mommie said we are going to sing some more Christmas Carols as we "open the Advent calendar windows" and learn more about what Christmas is all about.
The song we are singing today is "Deck the Halls", because Mommie said one of the big parts of getting ready for Christmas is decorating our house inside and out, like we decorated the pretty tree.
So here we go:
Deck the halls the boughs of holly, "fa la la la la, la la la la!"
"Tis the season to be jolly! Fa la la la la, la la la la!
Don we now our gay apparel... (see? My friends and I are all dressed up in our pretty Christmas dresses!)
Fa la la la la, la la la la!
(And, we are preparing a cake to celebrate Jesus' birthday!!)
Troll the ancient yuletide carol, Fa La La La La, la la la la!
See the blazing Yule before us, Fa la la la la, la la la la!
Strike the harp and join the chorus, Fa la la la la, la la la la!
(This is me with the "Martin Sisters", Daisy, Vivian, Nellie, and Dorothy. My Daddy's mother is Vivian, and those are her sisters!!
Follow me in merry measure, fa la la la la, la la la la...
(Let's enjoy some tea from the tea cup Christmas tree! Isn't it beautiful???)
While I tell of Yuletide treasure, Fa la la la la, la la la la!
(We'll read some happy Christmas tea time stories too, while we sip our tea!)
Fast away the old year passes, Fa la la la la, la la la la...
Hail the new, ye lads and lasses, Fa la la la la, la la la la
Sing we joyous all together, Fa la la la la, la la la la,
Heedless of the wind and weather, Fa la la la la, la la la la!
I hope you enjoyed this little sing along with all my little friends here at our house!
Yes, Christmas IS the most wonderful time of the year!
I hope you are preparing your hearts for Jesus' Birthday, which is what Christmas is, you know!
Merry Christmas!!!
What an amazing transformation you mommie created, Lily Grace. Why, it makes me want to sing right along! I'm loving those old music books, too. 'Almost like it's 1959 once more and I just lifted our piano bench lid to see them lying there. Gladdens my heart!
ReplyDeleteOh Miss Myra! Mommie said you are so right about the caroling books! She found them in the bench of the electric organ that belonged to her parents, my grandma and grandpa! She said that my big brother Scotty wanted that organ from Grandma and Grandpa's house when they died, because he used to always play it when he visited them. So now it is in his bedroom, and he still loves to play it. But he doesn't play Christmas carols. He likes to make up all kinds of songs, and some are pretty good, and some are, well, Mommie said Scotty loves them and that's all that matters. He wears headphones when he plays so we can't always hear what he plays. But anyway, the caroling books were all still in the bench, just like Mommie remembers them from when she lived at their house growing up, so yes, she said there are a lot of them from the 50's and 60's. Isn't that exciting? She said we will keep singing songs from them all month long! I can't wait!! Thank you for visiting, Miss Myra. I hope you will sing along with us! Love, Lily Grace xoxoxoxo
DeleteSo many beautiful things for Christmas! Thanks for sharing Lily Grace!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Miss Cathy! I am so happy to discover all these pretty things I've never seen before! Christmas really is a wonderful time, isn't it? Mommie says there is so much more to learn, and so we will do a little as often as we can this month, so stay tuned! Merry Christmas to you and yours! Love, Lily Grace xoxoxoxxo
DeleteLily Grace, I did enjoy the sing-a-long! I also enjoyed seeing all the decorations around your lovely home! Thanks for the tour!! Have a good weekend and give a hug to your mommie for me!
ReplyDeleteThank you Miss Terri! I just gave Mommie a big hug from you and she said she sends one right back to you! We are having so much fun decorating and preparing for Jesus' birthday! Mommie showed me your decorations and they are all so pretty too. I love your little tree and the special things you have that special people made for you. Mommie said that is what Christmas is all about...sharing special gifts with people we love, because Jesus is the most special gift of all. Hope you have a nice weekend too. Love, Lily Grace xoxoxoxo
DeleteWhat a Christmas wonderland your Mommie has created, Miss Lily Grace! I know you are taking it all in and enjoying every moment. Singing right along with you, little one, as we rejoice in the season.

DeleteLily Grace, that song is a favorite of mine and I am busy decking the halls here too. I loved all your mommy has done. Tell her, "Good job!"
ReplyDeleteThank you Miss Sandy! Mommie and I have had lots of fun decorating. I helped because she said I gave her some "inspiration" to do things special! We can't wait to see what you've been doing at your house. Say hi to Tucker and Palmer for me! I wish I could come play with them sometime! Bye bye for now. Love, Lily Grace xoxoxxoxo
DeleteI just love your teacup tree and the pretty dresses all you girls have on! And what a wonderful thing to see those pretty piano music books. Tell your Mommie she is very smart to have held onto those books -- wish I had mine from long ago!
ReplyDeleteOh Miss Holly! I am sorry I didn't see your message sooner! I've been SO busy playing with our train under the tree that I haven't taken time to read my messages or write a new post! Please forgive me. Thank you for visiting, and I am so happy you love the teacup tree! Won't you come and have a cup of tea with me? Wouldn't that be such fun? And we can all dress up in our pretty Christmas dresses? And we can sing Christmas carols from the very old vintage caroling books that actually belonged to my Mommie's Mommy and Daddy. She found them in the bench of the electric organ that my brother Scotty has in his bedroom. The organ belonged to my Grandma and Grandpa (Mommie's parents), and my brother Scotty used to play it at their house when he was a little boy, and when they died he wanted to keep it, and so he has it in is room and he loves to play it. He doesn't really know how to read music, but he loves to make up music and it is sometimes very pretty, and sometimes it is just something that only he could love! LOL. He calls it his "therapy", whatever that means! So now you know the history of the Caroling books. Mommie remembers singing from them when she was a little girl. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Miss Holly. Thank you for visiting me. Love, Lily Grace xoxoxoxxo
