Lily Grace Makes Some New Friends!

Good Morning Friends in Bloggy Land!  It seems like it's been ages since I've shared any new adventures with you!

Well, maybe that's because I've been so busy enjoying getting acquainted with some new special friends!  I would like to introduce to you my beautiful little horsey, "Bella".

Bella was looking for a new home because she was unhappy living at the local flea market in a box out in the hot sun.  When Mommie saw her, she knew that she would be well loved and taken care of here at our house!! I was sure surprised when Mommie and Daddy brought Bella home and told me that she was to be my new friend!

Of course I fell in love with her at once!! She is so beautiful! That is why I named her "Bella", because the name "Bella" means beautiful in the Italian, Spanish, Greek, Portuguese and Latin languages! (Yes, of course I can speak all those different languages fluently! Ha Ha! Just kidding!  Bet I fooled you!)

I did try to ride Bella, but we decided that Bella is just a bit too small for me to ride.  But she is still my very special friend and I love her so much!

I wanted to introduce her to some of my other friends, especially the Teddy Bears and dolls in my room.  But then Mommie had another surprise for me!

We like to read some of Mommie's old books that she's had since she was a little girl like me.  And when she found this book, "Ginger the Paper Doll",  Mommie had another surprise for me!  "Ginger" the paper doll was named after one of Mommie's special dollies from her childhood, "Ginger" the Ginny Doll!  Isn't she lovely?  Mommie said she is very delicate because she is so old...maybe more than 65 years old!! Wow! I guess that is why she is retired and lives in Mommie's antique china closet with Barbie and the Madame Alexander girls.  (That's another story for another time, Mommie said).

Anyway, this little book was written many many years ago (1957 to be exact!), and it came with a paper doll that looked just like our Ginger, and it had lots of pretty clothes that you could cut out and put on the paper doll to change her outfits along with the story in the book.  Sadly, the paper doll and her clothes are long gone.  But the book has wonderful pictures and a great story to go along with them!

Ginger was a lovely ballerina, and could dance so daintily!! I wish I could be a ballerina!!

And then Ginger got to take a walk in the park in the snow, and she got to go sledding and skating on the ice!  Wow! That looks like a lot of fun! We don't get any snow or ice here where I live, but if we did, I sure would love to go out and play in it! Do you get snow and ice where you live?  Can I come and visit you?

Oh, now, this is more like where I live!  We can go to the seashore and play in the sand and jump in the waves.  And we can go to the park and swing on the swings...

And NOW, since I have a horsie named Bella, I can be a cowgirl too, just like Ginger! See her nice hat and boots?  I have a hat and boots too!!

Oh lookie!  Ginger has a lovely party dress and gets to go to parties with her friends!
I have a party dress too!  And I've had LOTS of parties with my friends!

Wasn't that a lot of fun?  I love making new friends, don't you?

I am happy Mommie brought Bella home to live with me, and also I am happy that we found this little book about Ginger and now I also have the real Ginger as my special friend!!!

I would say that's all quite the adventure! Wouldn't you?
And now it's time for me to put on my pajamas too, and go to sleep, just like Ginger the paper doll!
It's been a long day, full of fun and play.
Good Night Friends!

Thank you for being my special friends!
Love,
Lily Grace

Oh, here are some special thoughts about being a real friend to others...and also how to be a better friend to myself!! Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so!

    1. Thank you, Miss Linda! It is always fun to make new friends but keep the old..."one is silver and the other's gold". (Mommie taught me that song. She said she learned it in Girl Scouts!) Bye bye for now. Love, Lily Grace xoxoxoxo

  2. Bella is a beautiful name for a beautiful horse, Miss Lily Grace! I know you'll have lots of future adventures with your new friend. I loved meeting Ginger, too. I can't believe Mommie has so lovingly preserved books and dolls from her childhood that she can now share with you. How wonderful is that?
Blessings, little one, and know I'm looking forward to your next adventure!

    1. Thank you Miss Martha Jane! I know I will have lots of fun new adventures with my new friends. Mommie said I have to be careful with Miss Ginger Doll because she is so old, but still I can look at her and talk to her and we can read books together, so that is all fun, isn't it? Yes, Mommie has lots of other little friends from her childhood...maybe we can meet some others sometime in the future. Thank you for visiting us. We always love to hear from you. Say hi to your granddaughters for me. I hope you get to see them again soon. Love, Lily Grace xoxoxoxo

  3. Good morning Lily Grace! It's good to see you!
I'm so happy to see you got a horsie of your very own! When I was a little girl I always wanted a real live one, but we had no room at our apartment. The illustrations on that little book bring back so many memories, and that's pretty swell how you got to meet the 'real' Ginger.

Please tell mommie 'thanks' for sharing this devotional. These times, especially, I need reminded.

    1. Thank you Miss Myra! Mommie said she always wanted a horsie too, but never had one either. So she wanted me to have this special friend so I could learn all about taking care of a horsie. And Ginger...isn't she so sweet? Mommie says she's kind of fragile, so I haver to be careful with her, but she loves to hear the story about herself and her friends and she loves to laugh and visit, so she is a very special friend. I am glad you like the devotional from the "Choose Grace" book that my Auntie Opal gave me. I needed to be reminded about this too. Sometimes I just don't understand some people, you know what I mean? But we have to pray for them and remember that sometimes we do silly stuff too that others don't understand. Thankfully Jesus knows us very well, and still loves us! Have a wonderful day! Love, Lily Grace xoxoxxoxo

    1. Oh, Thank you, Miss Terri! I am happy that you came to visit. And I know you love horsies too...Mommie says you often post pictures of horsies on your blog, especially when you go to visit your family in GA. I hope they are feeling better, btw. I am glad you enjoyed meeting my new friends. They are very special, and I know I am really blessed to have so many friends...like YOU! Have a happy day. Love, Lily Grace xoxoxxo

  5. Bella certainly is well-named! Such a pretty horse. I love horse figurines and I especially love paper dolls! What a treat to see Ginger! I had a neighbor whose nickname began at Ginger, for Virginia, and ended up as Gin-Gin. She had pretty hair, too!

    1. Oh, Thank you Miss Holly! I always look forward to hearing from you! I am happy you like my friend "Bella". She really is sweet, and no trouble at all! And I am happy you also love paper dolls and especially Ginger! I bet you and my Mommie would have loved playing with your dollies together when you were little girls, if you had known each other. Oh, what a fun name, "Gin-Gin". I bet she was a fun neighbor to have. And how nice she had pretty hair too!! My Mommie said she knew a girl in her school who was named "Ginger" for Virginia, and she had pretty hair too! But she doesn't think she goes by "Gin-Gin", so it is probably not the same girl. Unless you lived in Florida and had her for your neighbor? Have a happy day, Miss Holly. Thank you for visiting. Love, Lily Grace xoxxoxoxo

  7. Lily Grace: I have been missing you. But I understand thaw life gets in the way of our plans. This is Labor Day Weekend. Our son was hoping to go camping. It rained where he lives last night. It is predicted to rain today. Both his dad and I told him maybe he could go Sunday. We are doing rather well. I was happy to meet Bella. It does snow where we live, sometimes it is quite a lot. Other times, it is nothing more than a dusting of the ground. Peace and blessings to you and yours.

    1. Oh Miss Quiet Spirit, I am SO happy you stopped in for a visit! It is always so nice to hear from you! Oh, I do hope your son can go camping maybe tomorrow and Monday, since it is a holiday! That would be a lot of fun. I've never been camping before. I would love to sleep in a tent and cook our food over a campfire. Mommie said maybe when the weather cools down a bit. It's still too hot here where we live. Oh, you DO get snow where you live? Oh, I would so love to see it and play in it! Be sure to take some pictures of it when it snows and send them to me. I would LOVE to see the snow, but even better if I could play and sled and skate in it. I hope you have a happy Labor Day weekend. We aren't doing anything special I guess, because my brother Benton and Auntie Rose are still not quite well enough. Mommie said they have to get a test that says they are "negative" before we can see them again. I do hope that won't be too long. I really really miss them. Thank you again for visiting. Love, Lily Grace xoxoxoxoxo
